Beyond Academics

Cultivating a Sustainable Future: Environmental Projects at SKV

Organic Farming

We practise organic farming principles, teaching students how to cultivate healthy crops without relying on harmful chemicals. This not only yields nutritious food but also promotes a healthy ecosystem.

Permaculture

We delve into the world of permaculture, a sustainable agricultural design system. Students learn techniques for creating self-sufficient ecosystems that mimic natural patterns, foster biodiversity, and minimise waste.

Beekeeping Project

Our beekeeping project introduces students to the fascinating world of bees and their crucial role in the environment. Students not only learn about beekeeping practices but also gain a deeper appreciation for the importance of pollination. The project produces delicious honey while promoting a healthy ecosystem.

Sanchay

The innovative Sanchay Project tackles the issue of waste management. Students learn the art of composting, transforming organic waste into nutrient-rich fertiliser for our gardens. This not only reduces landfill waste but also promotes a closed-loop system, nurturing the earth with its own discarded materials.

These environmental projects are more than just classroom activities. They provide students with hands-on experience and equip them with the knowledge and skills to create a more sustainable future. By learning to grow organic food, care for bees, and manage waste effectively, our students become responsible environmental stewards, ready to make a positive impact on the world.
